I went through my catalogue of previous photos, and decided that I'd like to make a song about one. I took this photo a little over a year ago, on a walk somewhere.
This time, I let myself have some fun.
I spent a while forgetting about music.
Then a friend reminded me how sad it would be to have played my last song.
And so I play again.
A friend asked for a detailed explanation of how I made this.
Here's a copy of my response: https://mesacsclub.com/kaa/lumber-over.txt
I picked up a book from a take-what-you-want library some months ago, titled "The Enjoyment of Music Fourth Edition", printed in 1977.
I browsed it, and occasionally picked at its contents, yet did not commit to an extended reading.
I recently chose otherwise, reading from it about half an hour each morning for roughly a week.
The context its first 100 pages provides allowed me new-found musical control.

A friend asked that I make their friend a beat to rap on.
When I asked my friend's friend what sort of beat they'd like, they responded in the Fortnite text chat, "skooby doo".
This is what I came up with.
I sampled the first episode of Scooby Doo, Slick Rick's "A Love That's True, Part 2", and GTA III's "Wash Him Off".

Hello, hi there
how do you do?
Oh, I am well!
How about you?
I am quite fine,
not quite sublime.
Oh, that's alright!
Is it though, dude?
I don't know . . .
I just said some thing
to get you to stop talking
Well, I'll have you know
If you let me talk more
this convo could grow!
You always do this
every time!
Why do you do it?
Why, why, why?
What's the point of a conversation
that ends leaving us feeling bitter and dry?
Hey now, come on!
I don't know
how else
to lead a conversation
I suppose that I do fear
experiencing
confrontations
Your fear is baseless!
And if it is not . . .
You, you are doomed
to be sad 'til you rot.
sugar coated hogwash!
You know nothing!
You don't know me!
You simply do not understand!
This is beneath me!
I am leaving!
So be it then, bye, bye!
I would rather be alone
than choose to share with you, my time!
Au revoir!
'til the day I die!
Why is it this way, always?
I do not want to be . . here . .
we are one, such happy days!
so empty without
my dear
all alone . . .
Why is it this way?
I can only hope
that they return some day . . .
now we find where wonder went
now we have a place for all the love to stay
Dearly teetering 5
Barely not falling 5
make sure to hold on to 6
the railing, beside you! 6
please do not let go 5
please, do not leave, no 5
please stay near to me please 6
let my shrill voice guide you! 6
where is it you'll go? 5
where is it you'll go? 5
where is it you'll go? 5
where is it you'll go? 5
where is it you'll go, I want to know
I want to know where you're going
do not ask why, I want to know
I want to know where you're heading
I want to be your every thing
I want to understand your mind
I want to be all of your life
I want your body to be mine
If you refuse to tell, then I will follow
If you refuse to tell, then I WILL FOLLOW
pitter patter 4
skitter, scatter 4
static on my mattress as I have my mental chatter 14
4
staring, soaring 4
slowly imploring 5
my mind digesting all it deems surely does matter 13
8
The night time crickets 5
Filling my head with 5
A sound that I found to be surely delicious 12
12
scrumdiddilyumptious 6
wholesome and gumptious 5
rhythmically making me feel so rambunctious 11
16
drippin droppin 4
bippin boppin 4
yes tiptoeing toward my inevitable coffin 14
20
laughin talkin 4
hackin coughin 4
feeling funky in a way that I am so in love with 14
24
It's a firy passion 6
at least as hot as 5
the universe's very hottest bastion 11
28`
a deep overture of love you may fall in 11
a great blast of feeling as a companion 11
32
cushioned, warm, delightfully and lightly sweet 11
distinct hint of honeysuckle in between 11
36
bouncing around in your mind 7
like a child on a trampoline 9
such a fervor unseen 6
40
As that child ages 6
thoughts settle in the dust 6
feeling the sureness of childhood's dusk 10
44
as the person that they once were 8
feels like no thing more 5
than an empty, sad, and brittle husk 9
48
How does one 3
looose 1
all that they had before 6
52
just to 2
go ahead and 4
replace it all? 4
56
what does one 3
dooooooooooooooooooo . . ooo, ooo 4
60
what is it that one does 8
when that surely is all 6
that can be done? 4
